Sydney Aussie Rules Social Club Limited opened in November 1987 at its existing leasehold premises situated at 26 – 28 Darlinghurst Road, Kings Cross NSW.

Sydney Aussie Rules Social Club was extensively renovated and refurbished and re-opened as CLUB SWANS in November 2007.

Vision Statement

CLUB SWANS' reputation is one of providing excellent service to its members, guests, visitors and community with a responsibility to the community and our members.

Principle Objective

The principle objective for which the company is established is ‘to establish a Club for the encouragement and promotion of Australian Rules Football and other athletic sports in the City of Sydney and neighbouring districts’. Also, ‘for participation in competitions of the Australian Football League including through provision of financial support to organisations that support those objects or participate in that league’.

The Club formalised its current association with the Sydney Swans Limited via a Memorandum of Understanding in September 2004.

A master plan for the premises was undertaken by the Club and its landlord, ING Real Estate Entertainment Fund.

Registered Clubs Act 1976

The Club operates under the jurisdiction / requirements of the Registered Clubs Act 1976, and is a not for profit limited company. The Club was granted its licence in November 1987.
