Club History in Brief

The Sydney Aussie Rules Social Club was founded in 1987 to establish a Club for the encouragement and promotion of Australian Rules Football and other athletic sports in the City of Sydney and neighbouring districts, and for participation in competitions of the Australian Football League including through provision of financial support  those objects in that league.

In 2004 the Club endorsed an association with the Sydney Swans as their official Social Club and in 2007 the Club underwent an intensive renovation and facelift with the Club being renamed CLUB SWANS.

CLUB SWANS is a key venue and presence in Kings Cross and is popular with tourists and locals alike.  Many of our members are local residents who come in for companionship and to enjoy the Club’s facilities. Since its inception the Club has been involved with various local community groups and charities through sponsorships, donations and other contributions and has also actively participated in sponsorship and development of Junior AFL development via sponsorship with the AFL NSW/ACT.
